The Easter story reminds me of the price of freedom.
When Jesus died for me and rose again he absorbed my sin, my death, my punishment.
He paid the price for my freedom.
I regularly come across people who say that because of Christ’s death and the grace that this gives them, they are free to sin.
However, sin is slavery and death. Free to be a slave doesn’t sound like freedom at all.
In fact the Bible says, “shall we go on sinning that grace may abound? Certainly not!”
We have been set free from sin, not to sin.
Sin no longer has a hold on us!
Thanks to Jesus we are free from slavery, death and all that sin brings.
Free to live, love and be Christ to the Christless and advance His Kingdom.
What an honour.
