He’s dating WHO?
Bitcoin is CRASHING!
Hang on a minute? What are you doing getting caught up in that?
I’m amazed at how distracted we can get as Christians! (If you aren’t yet a Christian I highly recommend you check out www.discoverhope.online)
Over the past 3 months I have seen thousands of people come to know Jesus and hundreds of miracles. This morning I literally woke myself up preaching the gospel in my dream. I am BURNING like Jeremiah said in the Bible, the gospel to me is “like a fire shut up in my bones”, it consumes me and bursts out of me! Yet all around me I am finding myself talking to Christians who simply can’t stop talking about this world we live in, vs. this mission we are on!
I do not mention myself to say that I am anything special, I am not, I am a redeemed sinner simply trying to tell the world about the One that change my world, but I do share to illustrate a point.
You can be surrounded by “the world” and all of it’s worries, and rise above!
During a recent trip to Nigeria, I found myself preaching to a crowd in a gang controlled neighbourhood. Two of the gang members began to punch on right in front of me, (evidently they were arguing about kidnapping, robbing or stoning us!), but I had a task, preach the gospel. I remember distinctly thinking, “do I address that or not?” There were hundreds of people listening to me preach, would I allow a few people to throw me off my mission?
I preached on, and tens of people made decisions for Jesus Christ with many receiving a physical healing too.
If you call yourself a Christian, you most likely find yourself in such a moment, right now.
The distractions and temptations are raging all around you, and you have a choice to make.
You can reach your neighbour with the hope of the gospel, or you can get distracted by gossip about them.
You can share the love of Jesus with your cousin, or you can get distracted by their vaccination status and distance yourself from them because they aren’t vaccinated (or they are!).
You can spend all day praying for the hurt in your world, or you can spend all day praying for Bitcoin to make a comeback.
Seriously, why are you watching Netflix when you could be watching lives being transformed through your witness!
Timothy says “Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.” (2 Timothy 2:3).
You have a mission to complete. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul mind and strength” and “love you neighbour as yourself.”
You have a task at hand, “Go and make disciples of all nations!”
What are you doing getting caught up in that?
Why are you entangled in such a worry?
Rise above my friend. Rise above.
Don’t let “that” distract you from the souls of so many that need you.
Keep the main thing the main thing, and seek the Kingdom above everything!
